Route details

Short characteristics

We have decided to describe this route as a whole because it definitely has a tourist character and an exemplary execution. Moreover, interesting bicycle trails have been marked on its long sections. It is a luxurious bicycle path with a length of about 42km led on the route of the former railway line and it is mostly asphalted. The designers took care of numerous railway references: in Milicz you will even find a spur line with carriages. The necessary fences and barriers along the route are tasteful and wooden, just like half-timbered stations-shelters. Riding this section can be treated as a goal in itself. Since there are no traffic impediments, these 45km should not be a big challenge for most cycling families.

Zmigrod – Gruszeczka

It is best to start at the car park by the castle and palace in Zmigrod. A gravel road which will quickly lead to the lookout tower begins there and you enter the official system of Lower Silesia Bicycle Paths. This section is excellent, the route winds a bit across water swamps. It is a bit shaded but at the same time scenic. In the village of Osiek, you enter a long concrete section through the forest, which leads to the middle point of the route where you can take a break.

Gruszeczka – Grabownica

Here the surface changes to gravel on a short stretch, later there is asphalt and longer sections of aggregate. Right next to Gruszeczka, you can see a historic station in Sulow. It is also a convenient starting point. On the way to Milicz, you can take a break at the recreational pond by the railway station. In Ruda Milicka, you are very close to the Stawno complex and, because there is a convenient path there, it is worth turning between the largest ponds. The bicycle path ends in Grabownica at the pond of the same name.
